Ok so this is the real deal on Lake Wedowee Motel and Cabins as of 9/29/2017. I arrived at the motel around 630 pm, there was no attendant at the counter, problematic? Not at all the fine owner of the lodge Don, told me in an earlier phone conversation to just call the number on the door and he would have someone right up when I arrived. So, I called 2 minutes later BOOM I am checked in. Room 21,groovy this quaint little place only had 22 rooms. It is fashioned after a single row style old schoo lake motel. They still use regular keys here, and you will not be locking it in your room, as it is needed to lock the door when you leave. The room was rustic but awesome , comfy king bed, good ac/heat, clean fridge and microwave, 42 inch samsung tv with direct tv, and some really nice rustic furniture. The bathroom and dressing area was clean, and functional. I mean really are you gona live in the crapper dont judge it, use and get on with your day. I have Verizon cell, my signal was great here and my hotspot ran my computer great. Conclusion: This is not a 5 star Hotel...however this a motel worthy of getting 5 stars for all the right reasons friendly, clean, cozy, and simple at price not found often in America today. I stayed 2 nights for just over 100 bucks, would I do it again? Hell yea I would.

Great front desk service, Laura checked us in very friendly and answered all our questions. They also rent cabins but they were all booked. We stayed in a king room everything is clean, quiet, and quaint. Looks like a cabin from the inside. I would stay here again. Price is very good. I think all rooms are non smoking as they all have a little bench with a sand bucket right outside the door. I love the bed so far its soft like my bed at home. They have a walking trail to the lake which I will check out in the morning. Its 6 miles from the town of Wedowee. Looking for any place fairly close to eat go before 8 PM because everything is closed by 8 PM. Set out to go to subway that stays open until 10 PM. Have still to find it from Google maps it doesn't exist were it says it is. There is no lake access from here it's all private property gated off no trespassing.
This was a really simple comfortable hotel. It was very clean and the staff was very welcoming. They have a nice outdoor grill incase you are wanting just stay at the hotel and relax
It was clean and comfortable. It had a mini fridge and a TV with cable which the kids loved because they could watch cartoons. It had a booth like table where you could eat as well. Overall we had a nice stay.
Stayed here for the weekend. Enjoyed it. Friendly owner. Made sure we had what we needed. Good location. Room had small fridge and microwave. Comfortable place. We will stat there again.
A nice quiet laid back place. The mountains and lake area is gorgeous and serene. The owner is super nice and hospitable. During the height of COVID, I hung out for awhile. Definitely a place to get away from hostility and just relax. The prices are very reasonable considering they are one of the few places to lodge in the Wedowee area.
